u10-12b Spain game report

Rain washed away Fridays practice leaving the team to play
its first game with only one practice under their belts.
You wouldn't have known that from the way the boys played,
in fact, this team played as if they've been together for
years.  The entire team showed up for game one, a wonderful way to start the
season.
Special thanks to Daniel Mu.'s dad Leo for arranging to get
his son to the game somehow, even though he was away at a wedding.
Daniel came and played Midfield and Defense and was so 'all over the place', that the other
team asked if we had cloned him.  (We're working on that, a few kinks to still work out)
Michael V and Chase B took turns in the goal and nothing got
by either of them, even insects were heard complaining about the 'wall in front
of the goal' where they used to take their 'flying ed' classes.
Christopher D, Daniel Mo. and Alex S played stellar defense.  So good were they,
that our goaltenders had time to finish their homework and read a couple of
chapters of their required reading....WHILE ON THE FIELD! (Just Kidding)
Anthony A., (Bob) Dylan S and Christopher M were relentless
on offense.  Coach Anthony and I were out of breath just watching them.  They helped feed this
weeks offensive scorers with pinpoint accurate passes.
This weeks goals were scored by a trio of our sneakiest players.
Alec K started off the scoring by strategically waiting for me to put my head down to check
on the roster, so that I would have no clue as to what magic he used to put us
up 1-0.  Mike V blasted goal number two high in the left corner of the net.
If not for that net, it may have reached a low orbit on our atmosphere and could have
become a problem for our space station.  The final goal scored by our smallest weapon, Dylan C.
He got into the nooks and crannies of the oppositions defense better than butter on an English muffin.
His goal led us to the final victorious score of 3-0.
Kudos go out to our very capable opponents, team England.  They played a
good hard fought game and with a few different bounces, the final score could
have been very different.
Thanks to the parents for getting all the kids to the field on time,
and helping with shirts and forms before the game!
See you all next week!
